PARIS, March 26: The ‘Malaysian Borneo Unveiled: Harmony of Cultures, Nature, and Adventure’ exhibition has captivated audiences by showcasing Sarawak and Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity, stunning landscapes, and adventurous spirit.
In a media release by Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), the three-day exhibition from March 25–27, which took place in Paris, was organised by SFC in collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of Malaysia to UNESCO Paris, the Department of National Heritage, and Sarawak Museum Department.
It aimed to engage delegates through vibrant displays, interactive exhibits, and discussions, highlighting the harmonious blend of diverse cultures and the natural treasures of the region.
“The primary objectives were to foster awareness and appreciation for the region’s cultural heritage, landscapes, and biodiversity and encouraging sustainable tourism practices and community involvement in conservation efforts,” said SFC.
SFC said that the exhibition provided an overview of the following:
- The vibrant blend of cultures, including indigenous tribes and influences from Malay, Chinese, Indian, and other indigenous Sarawak cultures with exhibits featuring handicrafts and traditional costumes.
- The landscapes of Sarawak and Malaysia with exhibits on rainforests, beaches, and iconic landmarks emphasising on eco-tourism, wildlife conservation, and the unique biodiversity found in Borneo.
- Adrenaline-pumping experiences in Sarawak’s national parks featuring jungle trekking, river safari, diving, and cave exploration.
Moreover, an integral component of the programme was a reception accommodating up to 100 participants, with Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Sarawak Datuk Len Talif Salleh officiating as the host.
