Malaysia sees 21st fatality from Covid-19

KUCHING, Mar 26: Malaysia has registered another death from novel coronavirus (Covid-19) this morning.

This has brought the cumulative number of fatalities due to Covid-19 to 21.

Following information gathered from the Crisis Preparedness Response Centre (CPRC), the Ministry of Health (MoH) in its social media page said the latest victim was a 63-year-old man who was also suffering from a chronic disease.

MoH said the deceased was a participant of the tabligh gathering at Masjid Jamek in Sri Petaling last month.

MoH gathered that the victim was from the 1,588th case and he attended the fever triage test on March 22.

MoH added the victim was admitted into Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah after tested positive for Covid-19 on March 23.

During treatment, MoH observed that the patient’s health condition had deteriorated and he was confirmed dead on March 26 at 4 am. —DayakDaily
