KUCHING, Oct 29: The Health Ministry (MOH) will conduct a special recruitment exercise to fill 750 permanent Medical Officer Grade UD10 positions in Sabah and Sarawak, with applications open from Nov 9 to 15.
In a statement today, MOH said the exercise was open to all contract medical officers who began housemanship training between Series 1/2016 on Dec 5, 2016, and Series 6/2024 on Oct 14, 2024, including those whose service contracts had expired.
To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed their housemanship training and obtained full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council by the closing date of the application advertisement.
Eligible and interested candidates may apply through the Public Service Commission’s SPA9 online system once the recruitment advertisement is published.
Successful applicants are expected to report for duty on Feb 15, 2027, the ministry said.
The recruitment exercise is part of the Madani government’s commitment to offering permanent appointments to more than 9,000 medical officers, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the tabling of Budget 2027.
MOH said the initiative was also aimed at narrowing staffing gaps and ensuring an adequate and sustainable medical workforce in Sabah and Sarawak. — DayakDaily
