KUCHING, Nov 3: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) members have been urged to stay united to put up a good fight for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) by winning all six seats allocated to the party to contest.
PRS deputy information chief Andy Lawrence reminded party members that the lobbying period for candidacy in the 15th General Election (GE15) had ended following GPS chairman Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg naming the candidates for the six seats earlier today.
“We all must trust and respect Premier’s (Abang Johari) wisdom in resolving the list of candidates.
“It is time for all PRS members to come together as one, to consolidate our strength from grassroots up to the top party leadership. Win we must, all the six seats,” said Andy in a statement today.
The six seats allocated to PRS by GPS are Lubok Antu, Sri Aman, Julau, Selangau, Hulu Rajang and Kanowit.
Andy also pointed out that GPS’ common goal is bigger than that of an individual party.
“All GPS component parties must put aside their differences, and work together to win the hearts of Sarawakians.
“Sarawak must send all 31 GPS candidates to Parliament to be part of the next Malaysian government for Sarawak’s better future,” said Andy. — DayakDaily
