KUCHING, July 20: The Lions Clubs of District 308A2 Region 1 have extended the deadline for the Region 1 Lions Scholarship to enable applications from students who have just received their Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) results.
According to a Lions press release, the scholarship which was launched on June 17 is open to Sarawak students who have completed their Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or STPM to receive financial support to further their tertiary education.
“The award is valued at a total of RM20,000 for the duration of the course. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students from underprivileged backgrounds who aspire to pursue their tertiary education in public or private universities within Malaysia.
“The Region 1 Lions Scholarship Committee thanks all Lions clubs, community partners, and generous individuals who have contributed to making this scholarship programme possible.
“Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications before the deadline of August 12, 2023. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.”
