KUCHING, April 8: Limbang Collection, Processing and Packaging Centre (CCPC) is now completed after almost two years of delayed.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (April 7), Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said the centre was supposed to be completed in November 2021.

“This will provide convenience to the farmers in Limbang district and this is the only fully completed CCPC in Sarawak,” he told reporters during his visit to Limbang CCPC on April 6.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Bukit Kota assemblyman, said the projects, which was built by the Public Works Department (JKR) through state government allocations, will be handed over to the Agriculture Department within this month.

After that, he said, the Department of Agriculture will look for a private company to operate the well-equipped CCPC.

“With the existence of this CCPC, the operating company can buy the produce of local farmers and the farmers can plant on a large scale while also being able to give a large return of at least RM6,000 a month,” he added. — DayakDaily
