KUCHING, April 14: The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has reminded non-business taxpayers that the deadline for submitting the Tax Return Form (TRF) for Assessment Year 2021 is April 30 (for manual submissions) and May 15 (for online submissions through e-Filing).

In a statement issued today, LHDN stated that the submission of their income tax forms – for forms BE, BT, M, MT, TF, TP, and TJ – can be done manually, whereas forms BE, BT, M, MT, TF, and TP can be done through e-Filing.

“For guidance regarding the submission of the Tax Return Form, taxpayers can refer to the Return Form Filing Program for the Year 2022 which can be accessed and downloaded via the following links: https://phl.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/ProgramMemfailBN_2022_2.pdf (English version) and https://phl.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/ProgramMemfailBN_2022_1.pdf (Malay version),” the board said.

Meanwhile, LHDN stated that as of March 31, 2022, the total number of TRFs for Assessment Year 2021 received through manual and e-Filing submissions for non-business taxpayers was 1,163,444.

“Taxpayers are advised to submit the TRFs and pay their income tax within the stipulated period to avoid any penalty for late submission of forms and any increase for late payment.

“Taxpayers are also advised to key in and update their personal and banking information accurately to assist in the tax refund process (if any),” the board also stated.

Furthermore, LHDN stated that taxpayers can contact LHDN Hasil Care Line at 03-8911 1000 / +603-8911 1100 (International), or Hasil Live Chat, or use the feedback form on LHDN Hasil official portal at https://maklumbalaspelanggan.hasil.gov.my/MaklumBalas/en-US/ for more information and enquiries. — DayakDaily
