KUCHING, Feb 17: The Kuching Autistic Association (KAA) will be organising a run titled ‘Bunny Autism Run 2023’ on April 30 to raise funds for its new centre.
KAA secretary and organising chairman Duane Reggie said apart from raising funds, it is also to create awareness among the public about autism.
“April is Autism Awareness month, and that is the reason why we will be holding the run during that month.
“Other than that, we do need some additional funds for KAA operations, as well as the new building because of the rising cost of construction materials,” he told a press conference held at KAA building, here today.
He added, KAA is also organising a series of roadshow at tHe Spring shopping mall starting tomorrow (Feb 18-March 26).
Meanwhile, Duane said this year’s charity run will also see participation from the association’s 150 autistic children.
He explained that it is part of the association’s efforts to promote sports activity among the children.
“They will be accompanied by their parents or family members,” he said.
The KAA Bunny Autism Run 2023 will be held at Kuching City South Council (MBKS) foyer starting at 6.30pm.
The run will consist of two categories, namely 3KM and 5KM road running events. For each distance, participants may sign up for any of the four categories to support the association:
Category A (Medal+Tee+Bib): RM50
Category B (Tee+Bib only): RM35
Category C (Medal+Bib only): RM30
Category D (Bib only): RM15
Interested participants may register online via www.ticket2u.com.
