KUCHING, Nov 26: Sabati president Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang hopes that Sabati, with its own building now, can more efficiently deliver assistance to all corners of Sarawak.

For 40 years now, she said, members of the Association of Wives of Ministers and Assistant Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati) have been contributing to the needy across the State.

“Sabati continues to donate to heart disease patients who cannot afford expensive treatment fees, victims of natural disasters, and other people in need.

“Among other donations included medical equipment, Braille typing equipment and special chairs for cancer patients to rest while receiving chemotherapy treatment, as well as equipment for orphanages.

“Sabati also contributed to 54 community-based rehabilitation centres (PPDK) throughout Sarawak,” said Juma’ani during the launching ceremony of Wisma Sabati here at Jalan Bako, Petra Jaya, tonight.

With tonight’s launching, she said Sabati’s dream to have a building of its own has come true, thanks to various parties’ concerted support and contribution.

“On behalf of Sabati, I would like to say a million thanks, especially to the Sarawak government for their solid support and contribution to the construction of this building.

“Also, to all the donors, I would like to express my gratitude for enabling us to implement the development of Wisma Sabati,” she added.

Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, as well as Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, were also present to grace the ceremony. — DayakDaily
