KUCHING, Jan 5: Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee has announced an upcoming event for his constituency titled ‘Jom Gegar Jepak: Sahabat Maritim Bebas Dadah’.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Kampung Jepak Hall grounds from 7am to 5pm on Jan 13.
Iskandar highlighted that the programme’s focus is on building an information and knowledge foundation to mold youth as agents of positive change in society.
The objective is to empower the youth with knowledge and skills to address criminal activities in coastal waters, including drug abuse and illicit substances.
“This programme will also share the latest information about help, support, and services provided by government departments and agencies,” Iskandar revealed during a press conference in his office.
The initiative aims to foster leadership values and opportunities among the younger generation, contributing to the strengthening and development of close integration ties among local communities.
The programme’s strategic partners include Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus, in collaboration with the Community Service Office of DUN Jepak, Sarawak Social Development Council, National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) Bintulu Branch, Bintulu District Office, and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) Bintulu Maritime Zone Office.
Other participating parties include Bintulu Development Authority, Royal Malaysian Police Bintulu, Bintulu Information Office, Bintulu Natural Resources and Environment Board, Bintulu Hospital, PEMADAM, Boulevard Shopping Mall, and JKKK Kampung Jepak.
Iskandar added that the programme will feature various activities, including forums, sports competitions, exhibitions, and more. — DayakDaily
