MIRI, Jan 5: The Health Ministry (MoH) is in the process of identifying suitable sites in Long Lama to construct the new Long Lama clinic, as the structure of the current one was damaged due to soil erosion.

Deputy Minister of Health Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni said that pending the construction of the clinic’s new building, his ministry has approved an interim clinic to serve the community.

The Long Lama clinic’s facilities have been relocated to the Long Lama multipurpose hall since July 20, 2020, while waiting for the matter to be resolved.

“For the location of the new clinic, we have met and discussed with the elected representatives and community leaders of the area, and we have identified several locations, including the one located adjacent to the Long Lama Rural Growth Centre (RGC),” he said after conducting a visit to the newly open Miri City Health Clinic today.

Miri MP Chiew Choon Man, Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong, and Miri Divisional health officer Dr Raviwharmman Packierisammy accompanied Lukanisman.
