SRI AMAN, Mar 3: A small colony of hornets have built a nest inside a longhouse at Rumah Johnson Seduku Panjai.
As these hornets, identified as ‘tebuan tanah’ were deemed dangerous, villagers called for help from the Fire and Rescue department.
A team of firefighters led by PBK II (KUP) Amie Bansing from Sri Aman station were dispatched to the longhouse at 5.40pm yesterday.
As soon as they arrived, firefighters killed the hornets with insecticide before removing the nest.
It took them about 40 minutes to complete the task and ensuring that the everything is safe before returning to their station. —DayakDaily
