KUCHING, April 10: Large gatherings for breaking fast during the month of Ramadhan conducted by government and private agencies are prohibited, as only groups of individuals and immediate family members are allowed.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said reservations have to be made for such meals and no walk-ins will be permitted.

It added there would be no waiting in line allowed, as customers are to order through the menus provided and food will be served at the tables.

Meanwhile, SDMC said all hotels, restaurants and community halls that are accepting fast-breaking customers during this period of time must inform the local authority and respective Division Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) before opening.

The number of customers allowed at any one time would also be limited to 50 per cent of the venue capacity of a maximum of 300 individuals for community halls and hotels.

This was a decision made by the committee following an evaluation of the guidelines presented by Ministry of Local Government and Housing. — DayakDaily
