KUCHING, Oct 23: Esther Michael, a 41-year-old petroleum geologist from Miri, has taken centre stage after winning the 2023 Mrs Queen of the World Sarawak (QOTWS) pageant.

As reported by TVS, Esther mentioned that she never considered becoming a champion due to the intense competition.

ā€œActually, the other finalists have their own aura as well. I am moved because I have the opportunity to compete against nine other candidates who have excellent advocacy skills and even solid on-stage communication skills,ā€ she said, as quoted by TVS.

Dato Norhyati Ismail, chairman of Sarawak Media Group (SMG), presented the championship prize to the 41-year-old.

Nastassia Affendi came in second place, while Dayangku Norhasiba Awang Tambi was announced as the third-place winner.

Esther, the champion, along with the second and third-place winners, will represent Sarawak at the national competition in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 27.
