SARIKEI, Aug 9: A fire broke out at a temple at Jalan Repok here on Saturday night.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 7.30pm, and firefighters from the Sarikei station were deployed.
It was noted that the fire involved a non-permanent incense table measuring about 2ft by 1ft, which was located in an open, roofed area within the temple compound.
The report said that the blaze did not spread to the temple building or affect its structure.
The fire had already been extinguished using a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived. Firefighters then used a hose reel to put out the remaining embers.
The operation was declared under control at 7.45pm and ended at 7.52pm.
No injuries or casualties were reported. — DayakDaily
