KUCHING, April 3: If you think some Ramadan Bazaars are selling their foods at high prices, try the stalls at Kampung Tabuan along Jalan Setia Raja.

Ramadan stalls are available on each side of Jalan Setia Raja, near the entrance of the Malay villages here.

The stalls here are limited, with about 10 stalls on the side of Kampung Tabuan Hilir and another five at Kampung Tabuan, on the opposite side of the road.

Though the stalls are limited and this part of the road is known to be busy, especially during peak hours when traffic jam is a usual sight, there are still cars parked along the road, with customers stepping down from them to patronise the food stalls there.

The foods sold here are all packed, and for those dishes which are not, they are well-covered.

Youths of about 12 years old, mainly young school girls, are seen manning the stalls. They were a bit shy, but that did not stop them from conducting their business professionally and confidently.

A big pack of Nasi Ayam Penyet consisting of a chicken thigh, ulam, cucumber, and a generous portion of sambal costs only RM8.

Other delicacies, including kuih hati parek, penyaram and prawn cucur, are all delicious and sold at a very reasonable price.

A box of four slices of kuih hati park which are still warm when buying at about 3pm, costs only RM2, while five pieces of penyaram and prawn cucur, which tastes strongly of the prawn, are sold for only RM2 respectively. — DayakDaily
