“I am aware and repentant, that at a time when the people are still struggling with the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and the very challenging economic situation, the people have high hopes for this new Cabinet,” he said in a statement today.

As stressed by the Prime Minister that the new Cabinet is a management team that will work with the people by acting fast and are united, Fadillah emphasised that the their focus now is to ensure political stability, address the Covid-19 pandemic and the country’s economic recovery for the sustainability of the economy and lives of the people.

“Therefore, all parties and politicians regardless of party and all walks of lives, must work together to play a role to help make this effort a success.

“The role of the media is also very important and in this case, I am grateful because all this time the media has helped the government a lot in dealing with the pandemic,” he said.

Fadillah, who is also Petra Jaya Member of Parliament (MP), urged all parties to join forces and stop the negative elements in order to free the country from the threat of the pandemic.

Ismail Sabri earlier today unveiled his new Cabinet team without a deputy prime minister and comprised 69 ministers and deputies with most senior figures retained.

Urging his Cabinet team to work fast, act swiftly and in unity to free Malaysia from the threat of Covid-19 pandemic as well as economic and political turmoil, he said that each ministry will need to prove their initial achievement within the first 100 days.

Ismail Sabri added that he will make sure this Cabinet emphasises a high-performance work culture and therefore, each minister will need to make a short-term and long-term planning and achieve the set targets. — DayakDaily
