SIBU, May 21: An elderly woman was trapped in a house fire at Jalan Kwong Tung here, in the early hours of this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak was alerted of the blaze around 6.43am and swiftly mobilised a team of firefighters from the Sibu Station to the scene.

A block of eight-linked wooden houses was engulfed by the flames, and reports indicated that the elderly woman remained trapped within.
As of press time, the fate of the elderly woman remains uncertain, with firefighters still battling the blaze as of 9.06am. — DayakDaily
