Driver found dead at crash scene had earlier told friend he felt unwell

SIBU, Feb 20: A man was found dead after it is believed he lost control of the car he was driving and hit a road divider along Jalan Teng Chin Hua here last night.

In the 6.45pm incident, the 49-year-old victim was said to be on his way home after playing futsal with friends.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Superintendent Alexson Naga Chabu said the man was found unconscious and was pronounced dead by paramedics who arrived at the scene.


The deceased had earlier on informed a friend who played futsal with him that he was unwell and wanted to go back early.

“Preliminary investigation found that the victim did not suffer any physical injuries after the accident,” said Alexson.

He said the man’s body was then taken to Sibu Hospital for further action and autopsy.

The exact cause of the victim’s death is still under investigation until the results of the autopsy are revealed later.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
