SIBU, Feb 11: Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit has urged all quarters not to speculate on the cause of death of Datuk Andrew Wong, 43, the only son of Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and Datin Sri Pauline Leong.

At a joint press conference held at the Wong residence today, Stanley advised all to wait for the autopsy report.

“Don’t speculate on the cause of death until the outcome of the autopsy is done. Today or tomorrow … we are not sure when the pathologist will conduct the autopsy.”

He said at the moment, there was no sign of foul play, and the case has been classified as sudden death.

“I was here last night with the investigation team. Nothing suspicious was found. The medical personnel were also present, and they confirmed his death last night.

“At the moment, we will classify the case under sudden death report (SDR). So, we will wait for the outcome of the autopsy.”

Andrew was found unconscious on the floor after a long day out at Kampung Nikah, Tutus, which he travelled to by using a jet ski.

His mother found him unconscious on the floor and immediately informed their doctors, who failed to revive him.

Leong said the doctors pronounced Andrew’s death at about 11pm. — DayakDaily
