KUCHING, Jan 2: Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) will hold its popular ‘Kuching Car-Free Morning’ programme twice a month starting this month.

The programme was previously held once a month on the first Sunday, from 6.30am to 10am. The new schedule will see the programme being held on the first and third week of every month.

“This is part of efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the city centre as well as to provide an opportunity for city folk to get their morning exercise,” DBKU said in a Facebook post yesterday.

DBKU’s announcement came following Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s proposal last month for the local council to hold the programme twice a month.
