COVID-19: Travellers from South Korea next on list to be denied entry into Sarawak

KUCHING, Mar 3: All foreigners, irrespective of nationalities, who have been to South Korea in the last 14 days will be denied entry into Sarawak.

The State Disaster Management Committee in their latest statement today said since the Covid-19 outbreak, there is no known infection in Sarawak, thus the immigration policies are being enforced to ensure that the state remains free of such sickness.

All Malaysians (non-residents of Sarawak) who have been to South Korea and China, Hong Kong and Macau in the last 14 days are strongly advised not to visit Sarawak until their 14-day home quarantines have been fully completed.


Sarawakians and Sarawakian PR, work and student visa holders who have been to South Korea and China, Hong Kong and Macau in the last 14 days must undergo compulsory home quarantine for 14 days.

The statement also said all visitors from affected Covid-19 countries such as Taiwan, Singapore, Italy, Iran and Japan are to adhere to precautionary guidelines issued by the Sarawak Health department at all point of entry.

Meanwhile, Sarawak’s immigration policies for visitors, Malaysians (non resident of Sarawak) and Sarawakians who have been to China in the past 14 days remained the same. —DayakDaily
