KUCHING, Aug 26: Travellers planning a Sarawak getaway can save up to 40 per cent on selected holiday packages when the Sia Sitok Sarawak campaign returns to MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur from Sept 4 to 6.
According to the Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), the campaign will be offered exclusively at the Sarawak Pavilion, Booth 1A10, Domestic Hall, Level 1, Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), from 10am to 9pm throughout the three-day fair.
Participating Sarawak travel agents will offer multi-day packages covering destinations across southern, central and northern Sarawak, with qualifying packages requiring a minimum stay of three days and two nights.
The packages include family getaways, wildlife encounters, cultural journeys, rainforest adventures, highland escapes and multi-destination itineraries.
AirBorneo will also promote its Sarawakku Sayang fares, with one-way Economy Class tickets between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching starting from RM375 all-in, including airport taxes and fuel surcharges.
The Sarawak Pavilion will feature 30 exhibitors, including 20 tourism industry players such as tour operators, accommodation providers and tourism product owners, as well as 10 non-trade exhibitors showcasing Sarawak’s arts, culture, handicrafts, food and beverages.
Packages in southern Sarawak will feature Kuching and its surrounding areas, with experiences spanning culture and heritage, wildlife, national parks, caves and countryside attractions.
These include the Sarawak Delta UNESCO Global Geopark and Kuching, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, offering visitors opportunities to explore the city’s food heritage and culinary traditions.
In central Sarawak, packages covering Sibu, Mukah and Bintulu will feature longhouse and countryside visits, Melanau heritage, and river and coastal experiences.
Northern packages will cover Miri, Niah, Mulu and Bario, focusing on nature, caves, highlands and adventure.
The region is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Gunung Mulu National Park and the Archaeological Heritage of Niah National Park’s Caves Complex.
Travellers can also opt for longer itineraries connecting multiple destinations, with packages combining accommodation with tours, ground transfers, meals or flights, depending on the selected itinerary.
STB chief executive officer Dr Sharzede Datu Haji Salleh Askor said the campaign aims to encourage travellers to explore beyond familiar destinations.
“Sarawak offers very different experiences from one region to another, and we want travellers to see that there is always more to discover beyond the places they may already know. Sia Sitok Sarawak brings these experiences together in a way that makes planning a Sarawak holiday easier, while supporting our local tourism partners who bring these journeys to life,” she said.
Visitors to the Sarawak Pavilion can also experience cultural performances, demonstrations and interactive activities, alongside showcases of local arts, crafts and flavours.
The Pavilion will also spotlight the Borneo Jazz Festival as part of Sarawak’s Culture, Adventure, Nature, Food and Festivals (CANFF) tourism offering.
The September edition is the second leg of the Sia Sitok Sarawak Campaign at MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur this year, following its April outing.
The campaign also complements Visit Malaysia 2026 by encouraging Malaysians to explore destinations and experiences within the country.
The promotional savings are available exclusively from Sept 4 to 6 through participating Sarawak travel agents at the Sarawak Pavilion.
Bookings must be made at the Pavilion during the fair, with travel valid until Dec 15, 2026. — DayakDaily
