KUCHING, Dec 24: A Covid-19 saliva rapid antigen self-test result will not be accepted as proof for workers in the oil and gas sector.

In the latest Enter Sarawak guidelines updated by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, oil and gas sector workers signing off from Sarawak water rigs or vessels will need to undergo a rapid test kit (RTK) antigen screening that is certified at a clinic or medical lab.

They also need to observe quarantine until their swab test results are negative.

For those signing off outside Sarawak water rig or vessel, they are exempted from quarantine but they need to provide negative Covid-19 rt-PCR test results and have completed two-doses of the Covid-19 vaccination.

For oil and gas workers signing on from outside Malaysia, they need to undergo a 14-day quarantine at OTC, have a negative rt-PCR test result, complete two doses of the Covid-19 vaccination, and have a letter of invitation from their company and a work permit.
