Can’t depend on other political parties to fight for S’wak’s rights other than GPS, says political pundit

Dato Peter Minos

KUCHING, Oct 19: No political party in Sarawak can be relied upon to fight for Sarawak’s rights other than Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), says political pundit Dato Peter Minos.

He said while people’s expectations are high, heavy burdens lie solely on GPS’ shoulders to negotiate with Putrajaya for fair and just treatment.

“The burdens are particularly very heavy because the opposition is not helping. Malaya-based DAP (Democratic Action Party) and PKR (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) Sarawak do not really care for Sarawak being controlled by their Malayan ‘masters’.

“PSB (Parti Sarawak Bersatu) is too small, divided and disunited to be of any use in fighting for Sarawak.

“So, everything is placed on the shoulders of GPS (leaders) in facing and confronting KL and the federal government,” he said in a statement today.

Minos said there is no choice but for Sarawakians to continue supporting GPS in the coming 15th General Election (GE15) because other political parties cannot be depended upon to fight for the same cause.

“The other political parties cannot be relied upon at all to fight for Sarawak’s rights and interests, certainly not DAP or PKR or even PSB. That’s the reality,” he added. — DayakDaily
