KUCHING, March 25: Travellers from Brunei must download the MySejahtera application and undergo RTK antigen (RTK-ag) testings before being allowed into Sarawak.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday, a coordination meeting was held between the governments of Malaysia and Brunei to discuss the protocol for travellers entering the country as outlined by the Malaysian government in conjunction with the reopening of the country’s border on April 1.

The meeting was held at the Malaysian Immigration Department in Sungai Tujoh, Miri, Tuesday (March 22).

During the meeting, Deputy State Secretary Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik said that other protocols provide clear signage and directions to ensure travellers are aware of the process implemented at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS).

On weekdays, the number of travellers entering and exiting Sarawak at the ICQS in Sungai Tujoh, Miri, is 3,000 to 4,000 people. It is around 5,000 to 6,000 people on weekends, while on public holidays, it is 6,000 to 7,000 people a day. ― DayakDaily
