Bomba airlift takes Covid-19 jabs to Long Seridan, Long Kevok, Long Panai in remote Miri

MIRI, Oct 5: Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Malaysia deployed its Mi-171 heavy-lift helicopter to assist in transporting Covid-19 vaccines and a medical team for the Teen Vaccination Outreach Programme to three remote villages in Miri division here today.

Pilot Mohd Ruzaidi Ramlee and captain Sofian Ahmed@Ibrahim, who was assisted by Muhammad Fitri Abdul Ghani, led the mission to transport nine medical personnel from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to Long Seridan, Long Kevok and Long Panai.

The team departed Miri Airport at 10.04am and landed in Long Seridan at 10.50am to drop off 44 doses of vaccines.

The flight continued to Long Kevok and arrived at 11.10am to drop off 88 doses of vaccines.

The team proceeded to Long Panai and arrived at 11.38am. Here, the nine medical personnel vaccinated 86 students in Long Panai.

The entire mission was completed in five-and-a-half hours.

The team including seven Bomba personnel departed back to Miri at 3.30pm and safely landed at Miri Airport at 4.05pm. — DayakDaily
