Bintulu DDMC reevaluating need to test those keen on inter-district travel who have been vaccinated

KUCHING, June 30: The Bintulu Divisional Disaster Management Committee (Bintulu DDMC) is currently reviewing and evaluating whether a rT-PCR Covid-19 swab test is still needed for individuals who have completed their vaccination to enable them to undertake inter-district travel.

Bintulu DDMC chairman Jack Aman emphasised that at the moment, the latest standard operating procedures (SOP) under Phase 1 Movement Control of National Recovery Plan (NRP) from June 29 to July 12 will be enforced throughout Bintulu Division until details of the procedure have been fine tuned.

“Our side is still in the process of discussions to fine tune several matters related to the SOP.

“At this stage, all social and economic activities are not allowed to resume yet, except for essential sectors and activities in the positive list which have been issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC),” he said.

Jack, who is also Bintulu Resident, told Sarawak Public Information Unit (UKAS) when met during a visit to the industry vaccination centre (PPVIN) at Kidurong Club here yesterday.

Earlier in, he also witnessed a symbolic ceremony to hand over some contributions of essentials to PPV Bintulu from Urusan Asean Bintulu Fertiliser (ABF) director Aslam Khan Mohater Khan to Bintulu Division Health Officer Dr Melvin Chung.
