Bintulu brawl: Cops looking for 11 more suspects

KUCHING, May 4: Police are looking for 11 more suspects for their alleged involvement in a brawl that resulted in the death of a man at an entertainment centre in Bintulu on April 27.

According to Bernama, Bintulu police chief Nixon Joshua Ali said nine individuals, consisting of eight men and one woman aged in their 20s to 40s, have been arrested and remanded to assist in the investigation.

“Our investigation revealed that there are 11 more suspects still at large. Police will not compromise and will remain committed to tracking down all the suspects,” he was quoted as saying in a statement on Saturday night (May 3).

The 28-year-old victim was found bleeding outside the entertainment centre following the 1am incident.

He was rushed to a private hospital before being sent to Bintulu Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Nixon also urged the public not to spread unverified information or speculate on the case.

In response to the case, Bintulu MP Dato Seri Tiong King Sing requested the police to carry out a thorough investigation and question all individuals involved. — DayakDaily
