In saying this, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan pointed out that that they also serve as platforms for showcasing the hosting country’s cultural heritage to the world as well as provide opportunities for local businesses to showcase their products and services.

“They could even shape the identity of Sarawak as a culturally vibrant destination and various aspects of Sarawak’s heritage.

“Beauty pageant events bring together people from different backgrounds to celebrate their shared history,” he added.

He said this before launching the Miss International Malaysia Sarawak programme held at Waterfront Hotel here today.
