KUCHING, Jan 12:  Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) Kuching Division is organising an Active Case Detection (ACD) at Icom Square today.

Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the effort is a combination efforts of various agencies.

“ACD is specially organised to help the public in area of high exposure to Covid-19 cases.

“Please help to come forward to be Covid-19 risk assessed and PCR tested.  It is for your safety, you family, your colleagues, your friend and Sarawak’s safety,” said Dr Sim in his social media posting.

The Batu Kawa assemblyman urged all Kuchingites to play their part by being tested.

Due to the surge of Covid-19 cases in Miri, Sibu and Kuching, ACD centres have been set up in various part of these cities and the public are urged to come forward to be tested.

Yesterday, an ACD was conducted at the Milan Square.  According to Dr Sim, there will be more of such activities to be conducted in view of the surge of fourth Covid-19 wave in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Kuching registered 13 cases yesterday and within the last 14 days, there has been an increase of 45 cases in Kuching. — DayakDaily
