KUCHING, June 23: Many individuals—from Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar to Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi and Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas—have described the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang as the pillar behind her husband, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) president Datuk Richard Wee echoed similar sentiments, saying that the late Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (SABATI) president has always been as supportive to the Premier as she was devoted.
“Whatever he does, she will be giving him her fullest support. That’s her—always been the pillar behind him.
“That kind of support (that she gave him) is very rare to see,” he said when met at Masjid Jamek here today to pay his last respects to the Premier’s wife.
Juma’ani passed away at 3.34am today at Normah Medical Specialist Centre here. She was 76.
From 10am to 12pm today, members of the public from all walks of life came to Masjid Jamek to pay their last respects to her.
She was later laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim Cemetery here. — DayakDaily
