KUCHING, Nov 20: An abandoned double storey house at Jalan Sekama was razed by a fire this afternoon.
Three units of Rapid Intervention Motorcycle (RIM) from Padungan fire station rushed to the scene, followed by a team of 14 firefighters led by PBK II Abu Bakar Hamdan within seconds upon receiving a distress call on the emergency line at 2.26pm.
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre (PGO), the house was 90 percent destroyed.
The fire was brought under control by 2.45pm.
Cause of the fire was not immediately known and investigation is ongoing.
It was understood that this is the fourth time of such similar incident at the house. — DayakDaily
