7th edition of Samarahan Bike Challenge 2023 to be held on May 14

KUCHING, Feb 1: The seventh edition of the Samarahan Bike Challenge 2023 will be held on May 14, kicking off and finishing in front of Summer Mall and along Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa in Kota Samarahan.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the event will be co-organised by the Samarahan District Office and the Samarahan Divisional Tourism Task Force (DTTG), with assistance from the Sarawak Cycling Association, Technical Division, and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Sarawak and the Ministry of Youth, Sports, And Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) Sarawak.

Earlier on Monday, MYSED minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah received a courtesy visit from the organising committee of the Samarahan Bike Challenge 2023 at his office in the Baitulmakmur Building here.


The event will feature seven categories: Elite Male Criterion (42km), Master A (35-44 Years and Above), Master B (45 Years and Above), Sarawak Close Criterion (42km), Junior Criterion Men (30km), Criterion Women (30km), and a new event called Folding/Minivelo.

The event is open to all Malaysian citizens and also welcomes participation from overseas.

The event’s organisers hope to attract a total of 300 participants from the country and abroad, and will also feature a number of additional side events to liven up the event. — DayakDaily
