Pakistani man jumps from upper floor, sustains minor injuries in Sri Aman house fire

SRI AMAN, May 1: A 46-year-old Pakistani man sustained minor injuries when he jumped from an upper floor of a house engulfed in flames at Kampung Sabu along Jalan Lok Pin last night (April 30).

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency at 11.13pm and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from the Sri Aman Station to the scene.


The fire ravaged 80 per cent of the house, including a motorcycle.

According to information from locals, the house was rented by three Pakistani men. The other two residents, aged 30 and 31, managed to escape unharmed.

Prior to the firefighters’ arrival, the injured man’s housemates rushed him to Sri Aman Hospital for treatment.

The operation concluded at 1.40am today after firefighters successfully put out the fire and ensured the safety of the site.

The extent of the damage and cause of the fire are still being investigated. — DayakDaily
