KUCHING, Aug 13: The operating hours for all economic and industrial sectors and other permitted activities in Sarawak remain unchanged from 6am to 10pm.
The updated standard operating procedures (SOP) apply to all areas under Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) implemented in Sarawak.
Sarawak is currently undergoing Phase 3 of the NRP, except for southern zone areas that are still in Phase 2. The Southern Zone includes Lundu, Bau, Kuching, Serian, Tebedu, Samarahan, Asajaya and Simunjan districts.
According to the National Security Council (NSC)’s Phase 3 SOPs in Sarawak dated Aug 13, 2021, Sarawakians are only allowed to go out to perform official duties and provide permitted services or perform duties in connection with essential services.
Specific SOPs for certain sectors approved by the SDMC would be displayed in the SDMC’s website.
NSC also listed out the sectors which are allowed to operate at 100 per cent capacity for its daily operations, subject to the health protocols, while administrative duties are subject to the condition of operating at 80 per cent capacity only.
The sectors involved are fuels and lubricants; logging and timber; fisheries, agriculture and plantation; supply and food preparation services; ship construction and repair; telecommunication and ICT services; judicial, legal services and professional services of registered bodies/companies; postal, courier and logistic services and banking services.
Other sectors include construction, maintenance and repair of public, private and individual infrastructure/facilities; electrical and energy services; water services; solid waste and sewerage management; broadcasting/information services; port and airport services; and the creative industry (no audience in attendance allowed). — DayakDaily
