MUKAH, Feb 14: Mukah residents hope that the community clinic located at Pasar Lama Mukah will return to its previous operating hours, which was from 9am to 9pm.

According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the existing operating hours which is from 11am to 8pm has made it difficult for the patients due to the long wait times.

The situation is even worse for residents who travel from the interior for treatment at the clinic.

Ukas also reported that Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine went on the ground to inspect the clinic, which was formerly known as the 1Malaysia clinic yesterday.

During the visit, Royston had the opportunity to get a health check-up and hoped that the operating time could be reviewed to ensure that healthcare services are at the optimal level for the people of Mukah.

For the record, the clinic has been in operation since Oct 25, 2012, and has given excellent services to the local residents of Mukah and surrounding areas.

The opening of the clinic has also somewhat reduced the usual congestion at Mukah Hospital.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, the clinic’s operating hours has been changed to 11am to 8pm compared to the original hours following a circular from the Ministry of Health (MOH). — DayakDaily
