KOTA SAMARAHAN, May 22: A 53-year-old woman was killed in a road accident involving two cars near Institut Memandu N.B Motors Sdn Bhd (IMNB) here late last night.
The victim was identified as Mary Peter.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received the distress call around 12.20pm before mobilising a team from Kota Samarahan Bomba Station.
“The road accident involved a four-wheel-drive (4WD) and a Perodua Axia. The victim was found trapped in the driver’s seat of the Axia.
“The Bomba unit successfully extricated the victim using a rescue tool around 12.50am (May 22),” the report said.
The victim was pronounced dead by the medical officer at the scene.
Her body was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
