SRI AMAN, Feb 7: A 50-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were killed in an accident involving a Honda HRV multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), a lorry and a motorcycle near Kampung Gua Ming here today.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), firemen from Sri Aman fire station led by PBK II Mohd Fadhli Buyong, were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 1.38pm.
Following the collision, the MPV was fully destroyed after being engulfed in flames, while the lorry was 20 per cent burnt.
All the victims managed to escape their vehicles with the help of the public.
The deceased were identified as Jerawi Gundam, who was riding the motorcycle, and Valen Ting Hui Hui, who was one of the four passengers in the MPV.
The lorry driver aged 56 suffered 90 per cent burns to his body, while the 51-year-old woman who was the passenger of the lorry sustained minor injuries. Both victims were brought to Sri Aman Hospital for treatment. — DayakDaily
