KUCHING, April 28: A man was killed while hunting with a friend at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sungai Beradek here yesterday (April 27).
Kuching District police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the 44-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He disclosed the police received information about the incident at 11.48am.
“In connection with that, the suspect, a 38-year-old local man, was arrested and a shotgun barrel has also been confiscated for further investigation,” he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code and Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960.
“The police are conducting a thorough investigation to conclude the investigation,” Ahsmon added. — DayakDaily
