4 health clinics in Kapit open as CACs to tend to Covid-19 cases

KAPIT, Sept 17: Health clinics of Kapit, Song, Sungai Asap and Belaga are now operating as Covid-19 Assessment Centres (CACs) to provide screening, assessment and monitoring for positive cases or suspected cases who may have been exposed in these areas.

Residents in Kapit Division can visit the four clinics to get screened for Covid-19 and those who have tested positive but have yet to be contacted by the District Health Offices can visit or contact the nearest health offices or clinics to get assistance and further instructions.

In the meantime, both positive and suspected cases must undergo self-quarantine at home and adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) for quarantine and isolation.


Residents can also contact the CAC in the event of emergencies such as worsening of symptoms and conditions or to get advice.

Those under home quarantine are advised not to panic, but to monitor their health condition daily, stay home, do not accept visitors, separate from other household members, wear face masks, keep a distance from one another, use a separate bathroom if possible and disinfect with bleach solution after every use if using a shared bathroom, do not share personal care products, and ensure good ventilation throughout the house.

The Song health clinic can be contacted at 084-777634 or 011-65579190. It operates from 8am to 5pm daily.

Sungai Asap health clinic can be contacted at 017-8524905. It operates from 8am to 5pm daily.

Belaga health clinic can be contacted 086-461323/461148. It operates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3pm to 5pm. — DayakDaily
