KUCHING, Nov 4: Three incidents of animal bite cases were reported last week with one involving a pet dog at Homeland Garden, a stray dog at Jalan Haji Adruce and a stray cat at Pending.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng confirmed that all three animals tested positive for rabies.
In response, MBKS is organising another round of free anti-rabies vaccinations, complete with drive-through services including microchipping and pet licensing registration, scheduled for next Saturday (Nov 11) from 8.30am to 4.30pm at its Community Hall compound.
Emphasising the importance of this initiative, Wee urged pet owners to prepare their animals, especially dogs, for this crucial vaccination drive.
To promote awareness, the council has displayed posters across the city, urging pet owners not to miss this opportunity to safeguard their animals through vaccination.
“If you love your pets, bring them for their vaccination which must be done annually. It is the responsibility of every pet owner to ensure their health and wellbeing of their pets,” he said during his ShallWeeTalk online session while in China today. ā DayakDaily
