29 yo woman among five fatalities due to Covid-19 in Sarawak

KUCHING, May 16: A 29-year-old woman from Bintulu was among five fatalities reported due to  the coronavirus in Sarawak.

According to reports from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today, the patient who had obesity died on May 13 after she tested positive for coronavirus on May 4.


SDMC said she initially visited a private clinic after experiencing fever and was later referred to the Bintulu Hospital for treatment.

SDMC said the victim was the 223th fatality case due to Covid-19 in Sarawak, adding that she was among five deaths reported.

Meanwhile, SDMC added the other four casualties reported today involved three men and one woman, aged between 52 and 92, who all had comorbidities.

Three of them were from Bintulu and one from Mukah.

With the additional five death cases, the death toll due to Covid-19 in Sarawak has increased to 224 persons.

In the meantime, there are 405 new cases of coronavirus reported in the state today. — DayakDaily
