“Embracing the unique culture and tradition of the Bisaya community in line with the theme this year ‘Sapakat Nagap Adat’, the Babulang Festival invites the diverse community from around the world to experience the various activities planned at the Festival Site in Batu Danau, Limbang.

Building on the success of previous years, the festival will continue with the watch, experience and buy (WEB) concept, which has consistently attracted crowds with activities designed to appeal to people of all ages, from cultural enthusiasts to craft or souvenir collectors.

The festival will feature its signature events— the beauty pageant (agak asal), buffalo race (lumba karabau), and Nakod Babulang (welcoming the guest of honour).

Other events include a gong beating competition (tanding bagandang), raft decoration and ride, traditional songs and music performances, including that of other ethnicities in Limbang Division, tug of war (bintal kalat), and the open house.

For the youth, there will be sports and games as well as an auto show (motorbike, car and 4WD demo) and remote boat control competition. — DayakDaily
