The Nangka assemblyman told reporters this after a brief ceremony to hand over the cheque here today.

He stressed that the funds were to be used to ensure that the church has a more conducive environment for Christians to worship well.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Iban Annual Conference (SIAC) president Rev Bonnie Sedau said that the project’s estimated total cost was RM2.2 million.

ā€œCurrently, the project is 80 per cent completed. We hope that with the funds given, we can resume the upgrading works and expect to complete it by July or the end of June,ā€ he added.

He said that upon completion, the building, which was first built in 1972, will not only be equipped with more facilities but also have a conference room that can accommodate around 100 to 200 people. ā€” DayakDaily
