KUCHING, May 20: A fire nearly destroyed a homestay unit in Kampung Panglima Seman today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident at 3.21pm and deployed Bomba Petra Jaya and Bomba Padungan to the location.

Following their arrival at the location at 3.35pm, the operations commander reported that the two-storey house was 80 per cent damaged.
No casualties were reported, and the house was unoccupied during the incident.
Firefighters then proceeded to extinguish the flame and managed to bring the situation under control at 3.45pm.
An overhaul operation was also conducted later to ensure no reignition source remained. — DayakDaily
