Yast Group lauded for bringing 25th Miss Tourism International World Final to Sarawak

BAU, Sept 22: Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah lauded the initiative by Yast Group to bring the 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 to the State.

He said such effort would definitely help to promote Sarawak internationally and in doing so help the ministry.

“I see that the initiative by Yast Group will greatly help to promote Sarawak because for the event, 60 beauty pageant contestants from across the world will come (to Sarawak).

“And when they come, they will come with their crew and become ambassadors of their countries that will benefit Sarawak, so my ministry is really looking forward for the event,” he said today at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Yast Group and its Platinum Sponsor Tecktonic Group, here.

The 25th Miss Tourism International World Final 2022/2023 will be held in Kuching from Nov 11 to 27.

Pageant contestants will also be in Bau on Nov 18 after visiting Lundu the previous day.

Abdul Karim who is Minister of Youths, Sports and Entrepreneur Development said the pageant’s activities in Bau will help to put the town on the world map.

He thanked Yast Group chairperson, Esther Law, who is a local from Lundu, for bring the international event to the State.

Also present at the event was Deputy Minister of Transport II Dato Henry Harry Jinep who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman and Bau district officer Anielia Siam. — DayakDaily
