KUCHING, April 26: Jalan Market, Jalan Power, Jalan Gambier, Jalan Old Court House, Jalan Main Bazaar, and Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg are expected to be closed on April 28 for the World Water Day 2024 celebration.
According to Kuching District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah in a statement today, the closure will start at 5am to make way for the launching ceremony of the event, which will be held at Kuching Waterfront until the event is finished.
He said that members of the public can park their vehicles at the designated locations, namely at Reservoir Park, Saujana Building, UTC parking lot in Jalan Urat Mata, Sarawak Plaza, Civic Centre, Tun Jugah, Medan Pelita, and Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall.
He also said that the road closure implemented during the day will be flexible depending on the situation and assessment of traffic flow to ensure it will not interfere road users daily activities.
Ashsmon also advises road users to follow the traffic control signs and instructions by police officers on duty and to not park at the roadside because it causes traffic congestion. — DayakDaily
