Women escape serious injuries after road suddenly collapses in Kapit

Two women managed to escaped serious injuru when the vehicle they were traveling in fell into the rubble at KM4 Jalan Bukit Goram in Kapit after part of the road collapsed.

KAPIT, March 8: Two women had a narrow escape when the car they were travelling in fell into a gash opened by a sudden collapse in a road here this morning.

Kapit Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief PPgB Erwandy Tugor who confirmed the incident disclosed that the victims, identified as Pui Sing Dong, 46, and Debit Sullah, 32, managed to escaped with minor injuries.

“We received the distress call at 6.23am from members of the public that part of Jalan Bukit Goram at KM4 has collapsed and a vehicle had fallen into the pit.


“Upon arrival, our firefighters reported that the victims managed to climb out of the car before their arrival,” Erwandy said, adding that there were no other victims or vehicles involved.

As a precautionary measure, firefighters installed barriers at the site to warn road uses to be careful.
