MIRI, Jan 1: A middle-age woman’s bloodied and decomposing body was found lying on the floor in the dry kitchen area of a house in Desa Seri Boulevard here late yesterday (Dec 31) evening.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Miri Central station responded to an emergency call at 8.29pm and a team of firefighters was despatched to the location.
According to a report by the operation commander, the team discovered police officers were already at the scene upon arrival.
Police had requested for assistance to open the gate of the house as they were concerned about a possible body of an unidentified person on the premises.
Firefighters then used a power disc saw to cut open the gate and discovered the body of a woman, in her 50s, in the kitchen area at the back of the house.
Police removed the body and the case has been handed over to the police for investigation.
As of press time, it is unclear how long the body was there and if any crime was committed. — DayakDaily
